Evolution of Resolutions

It's a new year and I see you over there, going over your list of resolutions. Trying to figure out if what you have on the list are the "right" goals. Reflecting on all that's come to pass over the course of 2010 and trying to decide if you accomplished all the goals you had this time last year.

Personally, I'm one for the evolution of resolutions. Wow, that sounds way smarter than I intended. What I mean to say is that I don't usually sit down and make an entire list of goals at the start of a year. I usually have a few goals that are carryovers from the year(s) before and then as the new year progresses, I add to my goals list.

It's my process and it works for me.

Which, come to think of it, is also how I approach my To Do list. Hmmm, maybe this is why the To Do list is never done . . .

Do you start the year with a list and stick to it? Or do you add to or update your goals throughout the year?

Does your To Do list seem to grow more often than shrink too?

I have a hard enough time keeping up with my daily to do lists, so I know I'd fail miserably at a yearly one! :) As far as yearly goals, I try to make them as vague as possible and then complete tiny things that will lead to completing it. It's kind of cheating, but it makes me feel accomplished. :)

I like to let my new goals germinate for a while, so when the new year comes, most of the goals are carry overs that I've already begun or have put in motion. That makes the actual date of beginning less stressful. And I'm chronically nice to myself when I change deadlines or suffer setbacks. As long as I continue, extra points for me. :)

I try to avoid to do lists, and everything I've written on them! ;)

My resolutions are less specific and more motivational. I'm determined to follow a stricter writing schedule this year...no letting laundry or other work creep into that time. I guess that's as specific as I get.

happy new year!

I add to my resolutions list and adapt for life circumstances. I'm not huge on resolutions because I try to "self-edit" all year long but I do like to make new goals. =D

My lists are always a disaster, especially when they include "make a list." No lie.

My list does a little of both growing and shrinking! I have a little list this year, but they mean big things. I just hope to get them done!

I seem to have a continuing list that I just keep dragging out each year. Sometimes I'm able to tick off an item or two, but too often I keep seeing the same things LOL. oh well.

The to-do list is always growing. I think that's a great method for setting goals. It seems much less discouraging then setting out all the goals and feeling like you've failed at them because they aren't all completed.

I refuse to make a list. I simply evolve as well. My list is ever-growing and expanding.

The to-do list never shrinks. I think there's some universal law in regards to that. I am a constant goal setter so of course I never meet those either. ;)
